VIRNECT AR Glasses
VIRNECT AR glasses provide augmented reality capabilities, overlaying critical information onto the wearer’s real-world view. These glasses are particularly useful in situations where hands-free access to information is necessary, such as during search and rescue operations or complex technical tasks. The AR glasses can display maps, sensor data, or instructions, and can also be used to control robots like ANYmal, providing a tailored interface between the user and the robotic systems.
- Hands-Free Interaction: Operable through hand gestures, allowing users to navigate through AR interfaces while keeping their hands free for tasks.
- Data Integration: Displays data such as SOPs, maps, and real-time alerts, which can be shared between responders and command centers, improving coordination during SAR operations
Interview insights
AR must respect visual and cognitive load: provide short, high-salience cues (route arrows, hazard icons) rather than dense dashboards. In smoke/heat, optical clarity and fogging resistance are critical; design for quick flip-up/down and compatibility with helmets/visors. For robot control, favor waypoint/tasking over fine manual control to avoid overloading the wearer during entry.
