1 -When designing technology, two main questions arise: (1) What tasks or values does the user aim to achieve, and how can technology help? (2) How can technology be designed for effective human use? The Human Factors part of the SCE method focuses on relevant knowledge about human cognition, performance, ergonomics, and interaction. This knowledge should enhance understanding of user goals and design fit. Human factors analysis involves: (a) existing research on problem-solving, (b) measures of user performance and collaboration with technology, and (c) interaction design patterns (IDPs), which provide proven solutions for common HCI challenges.
